Our Winter Season commences in May and concludes in September/October. Rounds are usually played fortnightly on Sundays at the Aquahub in Croydon. Rounds consist of social and competitive matches of Powerchair Football and Powerchair Hockey. They are both open to anyone that uses any electric wheelchair for functional mobility.
During the season, a squad of players are selected to represent Victoria at the Australian Powerchair Football Association (APFA) event in Sydney. All National and International events are open to anyone with a disability that uses a electric wheelchair for functional mobility. After the APFA Nationals, players have the opportunity to represent an A-League Club at the Australian Powerchair Football Club Championship in Sydney. This event started in 2016 and had six A-League Clubs represented, including Melbourne City.
The Winter Season also allows our players the chance to train competitively and push towards International selection. The Powerchair Football World Cup is held every four years and is coming up in 2017. There are also other International opportunities which include the Asia Pacific Oceania Cup and Ditch Cup.
